Cold Lake
Cold Lake is a massive, very deep lake in central Saskatchewan. It is located partially within Meadow Lake Provincial Park and is 29km NW of Pierceland. Access to the lake on the Saskatchewan side is from Highway 919 (gravel).
The majority of the lake is in Alberta with only a small portion in Saskatchewan. This is only lake in Saskatchewan where either a Saskatchewan or Alberta Angling License is valid. Most of the lake is within provincial parks in both Alberta and Saskatchewan.
The Cold River Campground and Boat Launch are located in Meadow Lake Provincial Park in Saskatchewan.
The city of Cold Lake Alberta is located on the south-west shore. The Cold Lake 149A and B Reserves are on the western and southern shores.
Walleye, Lake Trout, Northern Pike, Cisco, Longnose Sucker, Lake Whitefish, Burbot, White Sucker and Yellow Perch can be found in Cold Lake. Note: There are a custom limits and seasons for the majority of the species found in the lake.
The inflow for Cold Lake is the Martineau River which flows into Cold Lake from Primrose Lake. Cold Lake flows out through the Cold River into Pierce Lake and from there other lakes in the park until it reaches Lac des IIles.
