The lake is in the northern fishing zone. Burbot, Lake Whitefish, Northern Pike, White Sucker and Yellow Perch can be found in Gedak Lake.
There are no parks or communities on the lake.
Gedak Lake was named after Joseph Isador Gedak on 1954-03-04 as part of the GeoMemorial Commemorative Naming Program ran by the Sask Government.
