Buchanan Lake is a small (411 acre) lake located 383km NNE of La Loche and 637km N of Meadow Lake (City).

Buchanan Lake was named after George Henderson Pepper Buchanan on 1965-09-08 as part of the GeoMemorial Commemorative Naming Program ran by the Sask Government.
