A Surprising Catch at Stave River

Over a few days, we caught a lot of trout, but on the final day, we had a surprising catch. We kept going back in hopes of getting a Bass. We'd seen them before and wanted to prove they were present in the Stave River. We believe they originated in Silvermere Lake, which is right next door. Where there is a study going on. They are an invasive species, but a great fighting fish. We have seen them as far as Agassiz. By the looks of things, Bass might be a replacement for an ever dwindling trout fishery. Hatchy trout make up the majority of trout in the Fraser Valley. Out competing wild trout. Bass fishing will become the main sports fish in the area in a short time.
