The prescribed fire season is starting in Prince Albert National Park

The Prince Albert National Park has two planned prescribed fires this spring. Both are planned for late April to Early May.

A smaller fire is planned of the Waskesiu townsite. The area is known as The Waskesiu Community Fuel Break (CFB) and has a prescribed annual burn.

A larger fire is planned for the south end meadows near the south-east corner of the park.

The burns will only take place if certain predetermined conditions set by the park are met. Please note certain areas may be closed during the fires, and smoke may be present in the park.

Additional info and updates will be posted to the Prince Albert National Park social media accounts and website.
