Sask Wildfires

Quick update on Rainbow Lodge and Piprell Lake. Earlier today Rainbow Lodge reported that their storage compound and Tiger Bay campground have burnt. Really sad news for everyone up there. Stay safe everyone! A partial evacuation for Hall Lake, Sikachu Lake, and Clam Bridge was posted to Facebook this evening. It's for Priority 1 Individuals (Infants and young children, Elderly Individuals, anyone with respiratory or lung-related health issues). See the attached image for more info.

It was not a good night for fires in the province with many of the active fires growing in size. There are currently evacuations in place for Piprell Lake, East Trout Lake, and Little Bear Lake. The FORAN mine at Hanson Lake was also evacuated. Sprinklers have been setup at Little Bear Lake, East Trout Lake, and Hanson Lake. The road to Besnard Lake is closed, and there are still some road closures in the Narrow Hills Provincial Park. Check with the Highway Hotline before hitting the road.

A bit of a worrying update today. Little Bear Lake was evacuated this afternoon and Whelan Bay on Whiteswan Lake now has a Pre-Alert for evacuation.The Foran Mine at Hanson Lake was evacuated yesterday, and sprinklers are being setup at the lake. The fire is still burning around Piprell Lake, and has started burning north of Summit Lake again. The Highway Hotline still says the 106 is open, but the 910 to Besnard Lake is now closed due to a fire in that area. The situation is changing fast, so please be careful if you are travelling in the area.
